LICHFIELD City Women produced a battling performance but were unable to get the better of high-flying Redditch Borough.
The Trade Tyre Community Stadium side showed they were prepared to try and upset the form book in the first half as Courtney Dilger stole possession in the opposition half before coolly slotting home.
They also found the net after a goalmouth scramble crossed the line.
But the visitors showed their attacking prowess too as Daisy-Mai Clements bagged a brace to help her side make it 4-2 at half-time.
Dilger could have cut the deficit in the second half after rounding the keeper but could not apply the finish.
Redditch wrapped up the win late on thanks to a strike from Alisha Sheridan.
