A debate on the future of the partnership between Lichfield District Council and the Lichfield Garrick is due to take place behind closed doors.
The local authority will hand over a £250,000 subsidy to the theatre in the 2018/19 period, down £60,000 from the previous year.
Councillors on the leisure, parks and waste management overview and scrutiny committee will examine the future of the link between the council and the local venue on 16th January.
However, members of the media and the public will be excluded from that section of the meeting.
An exclusion statement on the agenda states: “That as publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business, which would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information.”
However, the documentation does reveal that there will be “joint review of partnership and performance” between the two bodies.
