A Lichfield designer is tipped for big things after being nominated for a top award.

Gemma Ramage, 28, has been selected as one of six finalists for this year’s Midlands Fashion Awards.

And Gemma, who co-owns the boutique in the city believes a victory would be the perfect ending to an “overwhelming year.”

She said: “This last year has been overwhelming. It’s such a great honour to be nominated for the award.

“I’m a bit nervous, but also very excited about it.

“It really will be the icing on the cake if we win. But just to be nominated is amazing.”

Gemma added: “Already I have made some great contacts through the awards. It makes networking with industry professionals easier.”

The designer created her own label Bijou Boudoir and her dresses have been worn by celebrities Mischa Barton, TOWIE’S Lauren Pope and Eastenders actress Louisa Lytton.

Her designs are based on a ‘One Size Fits All’ concept with lots of heavy draping and manipulation of fabric.

Last September Gemma, alongside her friend and business partner Nikki Neal, opened their Boutique on Tamworth Street.

The event will take place at Birmingham Penthouse on Friday 11th October.

You can see Gemma’s collection on www.bijou15.co.uk or on her Facebook page Bijou Boudoir.
