Lichfield Garrick confirms next Christmas production

Published:

A Christmas Carol has been confirmed as Lichfield Garrick’s festive production.

The Charles Dickens work will follow on from last year’s record breaking production of Peter Pan.

Scriptwriter and actor Ian Adams will be adapting the novel with the Garrick’s artistic and executive director Adrian Jackson arranging the musical score.

The Christmas production will feature scenes on ice, live music and dance numbers, new costumes and scenery, magical puppets, and snow that will fall onto the audience.

Adrian said:

“A Christmas Carol is the perfect musical to follow Peter Pan. The production will be specially adapted for the Garrick, with the magical qualities people have come to enjoy over the last five years.

“This is a feel-good show for all the family, who will be able to once again relax with two hours of fun and frolics in the company of whole host of colourful characters and puppets.”

A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who has lost his Christmas cheer. With the arrival of three ghosts, Scrooge is hurled into a journey of discovery with a lesson he will never forget. Will he change his ways?

A Christmas Carol will run from December 1, 2011, until January 2, 2012, with a variety of schools, matinee and evening performances.
