A LOCAL group is celebrating a year of fundraising that has seen them donate more than £3,500 to charity.
Members of the Lichfield Ladies Tangles presented cheques to local and national organisations during an event at The Duke of York pub in Lichfield.
Part of the National Association of Tangent Clubs, is made up of around 30 local women aged 45 and over who meet regularly to build friendships through activities, while supporting good causes.
Among those to benefit were Holly Trust, Pathway Project, Read Easy UK, St Giles Hospice, Buddy Bag Foundation, Friends 2 Friends, The British Heart Foundation and The Stan Bowley Trust.
The money was raised through a number of activities over the year, such as a family quiz night and regular raffles.
Lichfield Ladies Tangles’ new chairman Lesley Freeman said:
“The cheque presentation evening brought together representatives from many of the supported charities, providing an opportunity to celebrate the impact of the club’s efforts and raise awareness of the causes supported.”
The group meet every three weeks, offering a programme of activities ranging from line dancing and cake decorating to hands-on experiences like feeding lambs.
