A Lichfield hospital department is celebrating the 90th birthday of its oldest ever patient.
Nurses joined in the party mood as Harold Tomkins received dialysis on his big day at the renal unit at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital.

“I don’t mind spending part of my birthday here,” Harold said.
“It’s a wonderful place and the nurses are excellent.”
His dialysis chair was decorated for the occasion by staff, who also donned party hats and sang happy birthday to the former engineering company boss.
The renal unit’s manager, Helen Bishop, added: “Harold copes so well with dialysis, mentally and physically, and with the dietary restrictions.
“He’s absolutely wonderful and we’re all delighted and honoured to be sharing his special day with him.”
