Lichfield’s MP has called for a new stop to be added to the cross-city line.

Michael Fabricant believes a station at Curzon Street would give some benefit from HS2 to his constituents by virtue of simpler access.
“On a recent visit to Birmingham City University and Millennium Point, I saw the plans for the proposed HS2 station in Curzon Street if the legislation ever reaches the statute book,” he said.
“With the whole area expanding and being redeveloped around Millennium Point, it makes sense to me that my constituents in Lichfield and others in Birmingham should have direct access to this exciting new part of the city.
“At present, trains on the cross-city line trundle past Curzon Street on their way in to New Street. If the HS2 Curzon Street station is ever constructed, it would make powerful sense for the cross-city line to connect with the new station and HS2.”
