Lichfield’s MP says a city swimming pool must stay open until a replacement is found.

Michael Fabricant’s comments come as the future of Friary Grange Leisure Centre continues to hang in the balance.
Lichfield District Council will make a decision in October after delaying a previous plan to shut the facility from April 2020.
Thousands have signed a petition to save the centre, with the Bishop of Lichfield also insisting it is “the wrong decision” to shut Friary Grange.
Mr Fabricant told followers on Twitter that he had made his feelings clear to Cllr Doug Pullen, the leader of Lichfield District Council.
The Conservative MP has previously called for an end to “bad blood” between the various parties involved in the discussions over the future of the leisure centre.
