Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant has been confirmed as the narrator for a performance of HMS Pinafore in the city.
Gilbert and Sullivan’s comedy operetta will take place at Lichfield Cathedral on March 5.
Mr Fabricant said:
“This will be a very musical, but slightly tongue in cheek, version of HMS Pinafore with many recognisable songs. Solos will be sung by members of the Cathedral Community and will include Ailsa Cochrane, the former member of Scottish National Opera and D’Oyly Carte, as Buttercup.
“I shall be giving the narration so the audience will be able to follow the story. It should be a really fun evening and a good night out.”
Tickets for the performance are £5, or £10 including hire of music sheets and a full rehearsal between 2pm and 4pm on the day of the performance. To book, visit the Cathedral Bookshop or pay on the door on the night.
