Passengers in Lichfield are being warned their could still be delays this weekend, despite an agreement being reached with a union to avoid strike action.
West Midlands Trains – which operates services on the Cross City Line and West Coast Main Line – saw a breakthrough in talks with the RMT union yesterday (5th December).
The agreement on the future role of conductors will be voted on by members of the workforce and pending strikes have been cancelled.
But a West Midlands Trains spokesperson said services were still likely to be disrupted in the short term.
“Both sides have worked hard on our shared vision to keep a conductor on every passenger train with safety critical duties.
“This outcome means this Saturday’s strike has been called off. However the agreement has come too late to withdraw Saturday’s amended timetable.
“Passengers are being advised to check before they travel.”
