Rail passengers using the West Coast Main Line are being warned to check before they travel when a new timetable comes into effect this weekend.

London Northwestern Railway say the new schedule, which comes into force on Sunday (15th December) is aiming to improve the reliability of services on the route, which runs through Lichfield Trent Valley.

Jonny Wiseman, head of customer experience at London Northwestern Railway, said commuters using the West Coast Main Line on Monday morning should also double check their travel plans:

“The new timetable we introduced in May brought in new journey opportunities and extra capacity, but also introduced a level of complexity which seriously affected reliability.

“We know things need to improve and these upcoming changes will provide a more reliable service.

“However, many commuters are creatures of habit, so we’re advising passengers to check their travel plans carefully, before heading out to work on Monday morning.”
