The Lichfield Players are bringing a Shakespearean thriller to the stage at the Garrick.
Richard III – whose body was was recently discovered beneath a car park in Leicester – will be the subject of their next performance, which runs for five nights from October 23.
Ian Parkes, who directed a very successful modern-dress production of Henry V in the Garrick Studio a few years ago, is again at the helm for this production.
Playing the central role of the king is Chris Stanley, whose last appearance for the Players was as John Proctor in The Crucible last year. He will be joined on stage by his whole family – his wife Sarah will portray Lady Anne, while their two sons, Tom and
Lewis, will play the two young princes in the tower.
Other principal roles are played by David Stonehouse, Gina Martin, Karen Fisher and Stuart Goodwin, with a large supporting cast of Players members.
