WOMEN are being invited to give the sport of squash a go as part of a local event.

Lichfield Squash Club is hosting a "hit, mix and mingle" evening at King Edward VI School at 7pm on 17th September.

A spokesperson said:

"We’re inviting women from across the local community to come along and discover just how enjoyable, accessible and sociable squash can be.

"The evening will be deliberately informal. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to pick up a racket, have a hit, try some fun challenges and play a few simple games, with no previous squash experience required.

"Rackets and equipment will be available, and afterwards we’ll stay around for refreshments, giving everyone the chance to chat and meet other players.

"The event is completely free to attend."

The initiative is taking place to coincide with this year’s Women’s Squash Week.
