A Polish dignitary is set to visit Lichfield as part of a whistlestop business visit to the West Midlands region.

Włodzimierz Fisiak, Marshal of the Lodz region of Poland, will be based in Lichfield during his trip from September 10-12.

During his time in Lichfield Mr Fisiak will be meeting business leaders and checking on the progress of joint-University and business projects created in recent years.

Lichfield District Council Leader, Councillor David Smith, said:

“I am very proud that the Marshal has chosen to stay in Lichfield for his visit and after the wonderful welcome he gave to me when I visited Lodz as part of a trade delegation last year, I am confident his visit will be as memorable.”

Mr Fisiak will also be visiting the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas to see the new memorial to Polish soldiers killed fighting alongside the Allies during World War II.
