A Lichfield firm which specialises in mobile trailer repair and maintenance has revealed plans for expansion in 2012, helping it to create new jobs across the UK.
Bullwell Trailer Solutions reported that turnover increased by £1.1 million last year and in response has launched a recruitment drive for 15 engineers across the Midlands. In addition to this Bullwell has employed a further ten engineers in the past three months alone.
The expansion plans will take the company into Ireland, where it already services more than 30 trailers for various HGV operators.
Managing director Gary Bulley said: “We are currently in a position at Bullwell where there is an opportunity to develop the business but to do this we need to recruit some engineers from the Midlands, Gloucester and Southampton to cover the increase in demand.
“During the past year we have invested large amounts of money into the company, installing an on-site authorised testing facility and becoming 100 per cent paperless. We have also ensured that our mobile vans are equipped with the latest in repair and maintenance technology, which has paid dividends in ensuring we are regarded as a top quality and reliable company.
“Our planned expansion into Ireland this year is based on the success that we experienced in 2011 and our growing client base across the whole of the UK. Before we can expand overseas however we are in need of experienced engineers across England to ensure we retain our position as the market leader in the trailer industry.”
Bullwell currently employs 55 engineers in locations across the UK, maintaining 5,000 trailers for companies including DHL, Royal Mail and TK Maxx.
Gary added: “There has often been the preconception that engineers in the trailer industry are less qualified than those in other areas of the transport sector. It is our aim at Bullwell to change this perception by delivering quality service in the trailer industry.”
