The Committee of the Grangemoor Working Mens Club on Cannock Road have arranged for the portable device to be installed.

Cllr Darren Ennis, who is also the club’s treasurer, said: ““After one of our members tragically passed away recently, chairman Rob Stretton approached me to see what we could do to get an Automatic External Defibrillator installed as soon as possible.

“The committee agreed to fully fund the machine so I contacted Paul Dadge from Burntwood Community First Responders, who helped us get set up very quickly.”

Burntwood Town Council is backing plans to get more of the lifesaving machines installed in the area.

“An officer from West Midlands Ambulance Service visited the Town Council meeting in August, and we are convinced the AED machines are essential to help save lives,” said Burntwood Town Council chairman Pamela Stokes. “I am delighted see that the club has had one installed.”
