The Limburg Cathedral Girls’ Choir will be visiting Lichfield as part of their UK tour.
Led by conductor Judith Schnell and organist Carsten Igelbrink, the free concert at Lichfield Cathedral on October 9 at 6pm will feature pieces by Rheinberger and Mendelssohn.
Cathy Lamb, Director of Music at Lichfield Cathedral, said: “Over the years many musicians from Lichfield have been made warmly welcome in our twin city of Limburg. We are delighted that we are able to return the favour.
“The Limburg girls are staying with Girl Choristers from Lichfield Cathedral School while they are here and we look forward to welcoming them.”
Founded in 1971, Limburg Cathedral Girls’ Choir is one of the oldest such establishments at a German Cathedral. The choir sings monthly services and regularly undertakes tours, visits and other recreational activities. Recent visits have included Sweden, Austria and Italy.
