Local Elections 2011: Mike Fryers Snr (Conservative)

As Lichfield and Burntwood voters prepare to go to the ballot box for the local elections on May 5, The Lichfield Blog has offered each of the candidates the chance to have their say.

What has made you decide to stand for election?
Having served as councillor for Chadsmead for the last eight years I wish to continue and carry on the good work.

What are the key local issues for you in your ward?
The major issue I have found on the door is speeding cars. I am a member of speed watch and after the election you will See me out and about with the speed gun.

If you are elected how do you plan to keep your constituents informed of what you are doing to represent them?
With our regular newsletters and surgeries. I am always available for contact by telephone and e-mail.

How do you feel you will be able to make a difference to your constituents?
At the 2003 Election my pledge was to try and bring an equipped playground to Chadsmead. This was achieved. At the 2007 Election my pledge was to achieve Local Nature Reserve status to Christian Fields. This was achieved. I am extremely proud of achieving the above and I will work as hard in the future as in the past to make Chadsmead a great place in which to live.

Anything else you would like to add?
I pledge that if re elected I will work as your representative for the good of all in Chadsmead as I have in the past and be available to act on your concerns when required. If you believe this pledge to be worthy of your support then I ask for your vote on May 5..
