Mansfield Town have been warned that Chasetown FC won’t roll over for them in the FA Trophy.
The former Football League club are favourites to make it into the semi-final of the competition when they visit the Scholars Ground tomorrow (February 26).
But with the likes of Grimsby Town, Eastleigh, Workington and Kettering Town already lying in Chasetown’s wake this season, Charlie Blakemore’s men will go into the game believing they can upset the odds once more.
And although he admits his side will need to put in another top drawer performance to progress, he believes Mansfield will need to work hard if they’re going to end the Scholars’ fairytale run.
He told The Lichfield Blog:
“We’ve done our homework on them and we’ve got to raise our game, we know that, to compete with them. But we’re not going to roll over and make it easy. They’re going to have a right fight on their hands.
“It’s going to be a great match.”
