Burntwood U16s were well in contention away to Broadstreet at half-time but went off the boil early in the second period to eventually go down 36-19.
The home side went ahead after five minutes – a series of well-executed passes being finished off with a 25 metre sprint by a winger.
A second try came courtesy of an interception and drive through the middle of the visitors’ defence.
Charlie Liggins got his side off the mark with a penalty then he converted a try by Luke Mason as Burntwood took advantage of Broadstreet infringements.
However, the hosts hit Burntwood for 12 points early in the second half with a converted try and a try before Ben Tranter replied with a try, run in from his own 22.
The hosts closed the game out with two late tries.
