There was no joy for Burntwood RUFC 2nds as they went down at home to Walsall 3rds 5-3.
It was literally a joyless contest with little rugby to excite players or spectators in difficult playing conditions.
However, there were frequent skirmishes between the sides, one of which ended with front rower Andy Dodd receiving a nasty facial injury.
Walsall took the lead with a first half try but Burntwood could only respond with a second half penalty by Brett Taylor.
