Chasetown FC Reserves increased their lead at the top of the league to 12 points with a 3-0 victory over struggling Brocton.
After 12 minutes Daniel Scragg almost put the visitors ahead on what was familiar territory for the former Scholar, but his angled shot flew just wide of the far post.
Brocton were not looking like a team positioned at the foot of the table as Scragg went close again ten minutes later but his shot was gathered by Wiggins.
Chasetown fought back and Courtney Sowe almost opened their account with headers on two occasions and Tom Lowe curled over following a long pass from Sowe.
It was Sowe’s far post cross that led to the opening goal on the stroke of half time. Jamie Aiton headed his cross back into the six yard box and Lowe slid in to put the Scholars in front.
Penny changed to a 4-4-2 system after the interval, restricting any freedom that Brocton had enjoyed on the wings the previous half.
On 58 minutes the inspirational Tom Brown calmly made it two after a Degville corner had caused panic in the Brocton defence.
Jordan Archer wrapped up the proceedings on 68 minutes with a pearler into the top corner following good work from Jonathan Gould.
The Scholars Reserves do not have a game this weekend but have a league fixture at home to rivals Boldmere St Michaels on March 6.
