CHASETOWN enjoyed a comfortable afternoon as they won 4-0 at Eccleshall in a friendly clash.
The home side had the first chance of note in the opening exchanges with an effort over the bar.
Scholars stopper Harley Gray then made a fine save to prevent his side falling behind.
The breakthrough eventually came at the other end though when Chasetown were awarded a penalty on 12 minutes and Matt Funge made no mistake from the spot.
The advantage was doubled ten minutes later when Funge bagged his second after tapping home a cross.
Oli Hayward went close to adding a third, but saw his shot saved by the home keeper.
The second half was just two minutes old when Chasetown netted their third after a cross from the left was tucked home by a trialist.
Moments later youngster Lachlan Suffell made it 4-0 to the Scholars.
Eccleshall almost pulled one back 15 minutes from time when a one-on-one opportunity was poked beyond Gray, but the post came to his rescue before the ball was cleared away by a defender.
Kyle Moseley rifled over as Chasetown went in search of a fifth.
But the final act of the day went to Gray who saved well to keep his clean sheet intact in the dying moments.
