THE ribbon has been cut on a new play centre by Lichfield’s MP.
GrandKidz, on Bakers Lane in the city centre, has an an airport theme and has been launched by Raj and Fal Singh.
The centre contains a sensory room, play zones, obstacle courses, and interactive experiences, giving children a chance to explore, play and discover.
Dave Robertson MP said:
“A lot of people contact me wanting to see more activities for kids across Lichfield, Burntwood and the villages.
“It’s great to see an independent business opening up in the constituency which is bringing soft play, a role play area and a sensory room to our area.”
The soft play facility has features like airplane tunnels, pilot-inspired climbing walls and space for children to run, jump and play in.
GrandKidz also has a cafe featuring locally-sourced produce.
Co-owner Raj said:
“We had initially planned to open in Sutton Coldfield, but I saw this place and thought ‘I’m taking that’ because I was so excited to bring the business to Lichfield.
“We got the keys in August and we’ve been working hard ever since to get it open.
“It’s definitely not just a soft play area – we also have arts and crafts and role play. We have great food produced by local suppliers. Our cakes are also made locally.”
Sessions can be booked at grandkidz.co.uk, with walk-in bookings also on offer subject to availability.
