The Walk for Remembrance takes place on May 11 at 1pm and will see people take in either a 5km or 10km circuit, ending at the Armed Forces Memorial.

People from around the country are expected to visit Alrewas for the event.

Among them will be Mandi Silver from Norwich. She said: “I have been lucky not to lose anyone close to me but I want to pay my respects to all those who have given their lives for us – they have paid the ultimate sacrifice and should be remembered.

“I am looking forward to exploring the Arboretum and doing something so worthwhile.”

Money raised will help fund the £4,000 needed each day to keep the Arboretum open as a free venue.
