PLANS for a new access point to allow for a new housing development in Fradley to be built have been approved.
The scheme had originally been scheduled to use Horner Avenue to access the land where 109 new properties will be added.
But the new application will see a temporary access added off Common Lane.
A planning officer’s report said:
“The scheme had approved construction vehicle access via Horner Avenue with the requirement for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders to be in place to control resident parking during construction hours.
“This current application seeks the use of an alternative access for construction vehicles to avoid the use of Horner Avenue.
“Construction vehicles will leave the roundabout at Common Lane and Halifax Avenue and access the development site through the turning head adjacent to the site boundary. No significant engineering works are required to facilitate the arrangement.”
The housing development was originally rejected by councillors following a campaign by local residents before being approved on appeal by the Planning Inspector.
