A new memorial to a Belgian woman who served as a spy for the British during World War One will be dedicated in Alrewas to mark 100 years since her death.
Gabrielle Petit helped men cross the border into the Netherlands during the war as well as giving information on German troop movements.
But she was arrested in 1916 and killed by a firing squad after refusing to reveal who her fellow agents were.
A tree and inscribed plaque detailing her service and sacrifice will be dedicated in the Allied Special Forces Association Grove at the National Memorial Arboretun at noon on April 2.
Admission is free and members of the public are welcome to attend.
