TWO new police dogs are ready to go on the beat to keep local residents safe.
Staffordshire Police handlers PC Ruth Jones and PC Craig Dutton have been putting new recruits Vader and Tuli through their paces.
Following an intensive 13-week course, the dogs are now trained to track and search for suspects and missing people, as well as recovering property.
To mark their achievement, the teams were presented with a certificate by Assistant Chief Constable Paul Talbot, who said:
"Taking on board and training a new police dog is an enormous challenge for any handler and PC Jones and PC Dutton have more than risen to the challenge once again.
"Throughout the training process the dogs’ enthusiasm, determination to learn and strong bond with their handlers has been clear to see.
"I’m delighted that they’re now successfully licensed and it’s good to know that we have two more formidable crime-fighting teams helping to keep Staffordshire safe."
