A RUGBY festival in Lichfield has been cancelled.
The event had been due to take place at Cooke Fields on Saturday (22nd August).
But Lichfield Rugby Club has now confirmed it will not go ahead.
A spokesperson said:
"It is with great disappointment, we have had to cancel the Offload Festival this Saturday. "This is a direct knock on from the RFU's decision to push back the start of the competitive season following the arid summer conditions.
"As a result, Hinckley have deferred on the arranged pre-season match which was deemed the focal point of the event. Without it the day would not be viable."
