Parking restrictions could be introduced on a residential street in Lichfield.
Fradley and Streethay Parish Council are asking people living around Burton Old Road in Streethay to give their views on the proposal, which would see a Monday to Friday no parking restriction between 11am and 11.30am.
Nigel Caine, clerk of the council, said the consultation was being run on behalf of Staffordshire County Council.
“Users of Lichfield Trent Valley station are parking locally for free and walking to the station,” the spokesperson added. “This is likely to become a more serious issue once the pedestrian crossing over the railway reopens next month and the Liberty Industrial Park work gets underway.
“Staffordshire County Council have proposed to regulate unrestricted parking in Burton Old Road targeted at station users parking all day in Streethay. Additional roads could also be included.”
Mr Caine added that the introduction of any restrictions would be enforced.
“This controlled area between 11am and 11.30am will cause little interference to residents, but will stop all day parking,” he said.
“We have been assured by Staffordshire County Council that this will be enforced as the traffic wardens are based at the depot near the Trent Valley roundabout.”
