Passengers have been thanked for their patience during disruption caused by rail strikes.

Services in and out of Lichfield were impacted throughout last week due to three days of industrial action.

As a result, people were asked to only travel if necessary, with operators saying many made alternative arrangements or adapted their plans as a result.

Alex Warner, chair of the Grand Railway Collaboration, representing West Midlands train operators and Network Rail, said:

“I would like to thank passengers across the network for their patience and understanding during a challenging week for everybody on the railway.

“Normal timetables have now resumed across the network and our operators are looking forward to welcoming passengers back on board.”
