A COMMUNITY group says it is hoping to help shape the future of a local green space.
The Friends of Christian Fields say they support from the public has pushed forward efforts to become a fully constituted organisation to help protect and enhance the site off Eastern Avenue.
The group is keen to ensure “sensitive planting and habitat creation” as well as improvements to dog facilities and family-friendly access.
Sights have also been set on creating better routes for wheelchair users.
Dan Floyd, from the Friends of Christian Fields, said the group was now seeking new committee members and volunteers to help guide the group through its next phase and develop projects at the site.
He said:
“This is about building something sustainable, community-led, and giving Curborough a truly great and amazing green space.
“We’ve seen real support, but we’re looking for people who want to help shape the future of Christian Fields in a practical, positive way to join and help us form a constituted committee.”
