LAND in Fradley could be redeveloped to create new storage and distribution facilities.
Existing leases on the Lichfield Auction Centre site will end in May 2028 with outline proposals submitted to Lichfield District Council to demolish the existing buildings to make way for the new structures.
The plot is currently home to Palletways UK and Richard Winterton Auctioneers.
A planning statement said:
"The site will become fully vacant in May 2028 when their leases end.
"Permission is sought for up to 42,270 sq m of floorspace. The delivery could be proposed throughout the site on a flexible basis and within one or several buildings.
"Details of the proposed layout are not sought for approval via the outline application and would be confirmed via a future application for reserved matters. However, the outline application is accompanied by an illustrative masterplan to demonstrate one possible way that this quantum of development could be accommodated on site."
Full details can be found on Lichfield District Council's planning website.
