Proposals have been drawn up for new industrial units to be built on vacant land in Fradley.
The land off Wellington Crescent and alongside the A38 is being earmarked for buildings covering a total of 283,000 sq ft.
A planning statement supporting the application said the scheme would help create jobs and boost the local economy.
“This site is an essential part of the strategy to deliver economic growth in Lichfield.
“It makes a significant contribution to the adopted target of securing up to 9,000 jobs.
“The surrounding area has both recent and historic approvals for similar uses – Fradley Park has been a well-established industrial and distribution location for some time- with existing occupiers including Tesco, Screwfix, DHL, Palletways, ASOS and Yodel.
“We conclude that the principle of employment development on this site is both acceptable and necessary.”
