Van drivers in Lichfield and Burntwood are being issued with kits to help them mark items in a bid to deter thieves following a spate of crimes in the area.
Staffordshire Police said the security marking initiative were being issued to help drivers and couriers after a rise in incidents.
A spokesperson owners should also look to take additional steps to deter thieves.
“Where possible, consider in investing in enhanced vehicle security and remember to always turn off and lock your vehicle when you are not using it.
“We will continue to distribute Smart water security marking kits at random across the area.”
