POLICE say nine people have been arrested on suspicion of criminal offences aftter a protest in Shenstone.
Officers were called to Lynn Lane this morning (21st September) after members of the Silence Elbit Drones group took part in a 'lock-on' to block access to a factory.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:
"Four people have been arrested on suspicion of lock on to person/object/land to cause serious disruption, including a 57-year-old man from the Stroud area, a 73-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman, of no fixed address, and a 77-year-old man from the Bolton area.
"A 55-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of wilful obstruction on a highway.
"Four other people have been arrested on suspicion of both offences, including a 74-year-old woman from the Powys area, a 63-year-old woman from the Radstock area, a 30-year-old woman from the Basildon area, and a 24-year-old woman from the London area."
