Police name man who died in Burntwood as three people remain in custody on suspicion of murder

POLICE have named a man who died in Burntwood.

Sashon Richards Brown, 32 and of no fixed abode, was found at a property on Hazel Grove just before 9am yesterday (5th May) after officers had responded to reports of people fighting.

Staffordshire Police said he had been found with “significant injuries” at the scene.

A spokesperson added:

“Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead shortly after 10am.

“Specialist officers are supporting his next of kin.”

Two men – aged 32 and 27 – and a woman, 33, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody as enquiries progress.

A dog that was injured in the incident was taken to the emergency vets for treatment and remains there in a critical condition.

The police spokesperson added:

“We are continuing our investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding Sashon’s death.”
