Police have revealed more information about a lorry that was involved in a crash on the A38 which left a Lichfield moped rider dead.
Benjamin Warrington, 24, died after the collision between his white Yamaha 50cc scooter and a HGV near the Streethay slip-road at 5.25am on Tuesday (February 21).
Inspector Jed White, Lichfield District Local Policing Team Commander, said: “We now have information that the HGV involved was possibly a brushed aluminium quarry tipper type truck.
“Detectives are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to locate the truck, including checking CCTV in the area and trawling Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) data.
“We still want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision or seen the moped travelling northbound on the A38.
“In particular, we want to speak to the occupants of a silver people carrier type vehicle that travelled from near the railway station in Lichfield, joined the A38 at Streethay and came off at the Fradley Park junction.”
