A pro-HS2 group has confirmed it will hold a conference outlining the benefits of high speed rail.
The Greengauge 21 group will host the event on September 19 in Birmingham.
The organisation has backed the controversial scheme – which will cut through parts of Lichfield and the surrounding villages – saying that the case for high speed rail is “compelling”.
“Our aim for the day is simple: to transform any lingering perception that HS2 is of limited, narrow benefit – it isn’t,” said Greengauge 21 director Jim Steer. “The beneficial effects extend right across the national rail network.”
