A Lichfield engineer has been awarded membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
Wedzerayi Mashangu, an engineer at Bechtel – based at Canary Wharf in London – received the Technician Membership from ICE President Peter Hansford.
Wedzerayi said:
“Securing ICE membership is a milestone and achievement for an engineer as well as being an identity and ticket to rewarding opportunities.
“Among my achievements have been working on a concrete repair project on the Crossrail scheme which was a significant personal and professional achievement.”
Wedzerayi, who has met all the requirements of the ICE’s Chartered Professional Review, is now entitled to add the letters MICE to his name and adopt the Institution’s own protected title of Chartered Civil Engineer.
Steve Feeley, ICE West Midlands regional director, added:
“Civil engineering is an important engineering discipline sitting right at the heart of society. Achieving Chartered Civil engineer status is a significant personal and career achievement and we welcome Wedzerayi into the ICE.”
