Two Lichfield architects have been promoted from associates to directors.
Adrian Mathias and Mark Williams join the board of award-winning Brownhill Hayward Brown in Bird Street with a total of 25 years’ service between them.
Adrian, 38, joined the company in 1999 as a project architect after training at the Birmingham School of Architecture and working in practice in Birmingham.
With a Masters degree in Building Conservation gained with BHB sponsorship, he is an expert in heritage structures. His current restoration projects include St Chad’s Cathedral in Birmingham and Highclere Castle in Newbury. He also carries out design work across a wide range of construction sectors, including schools, community facilities and residential schemes.
Lichfield-born Mark, 34, joined BHB in 1998 after graduating from Plymouth School of Architecture and working for architectural practices in Birmingham. Sponsored by BHB, he completed his professional training while working full time for the company.
With specialist expertise in townscape redevelopment and residential master planning, he has worked on major residential schemes including Lichfield’s Darwin Park and the redevelopment of Uttoxeter Cattle Market in Staffordshire.
The new directors join managing director Andrew Hayward and fellow director Charlie Brown on the BHB board. Peter Brownhill remains a consultant to the 35-strong company, which was one of the first in the country to achieve Chartered Practice status from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
