A PLANNING report has recommended a development of 72 new homes in Whittington is approved.

Lichfield District Council’s planning committee will decide on the scheme, which would also see the demolition of the existing property at 64 Back Lane.

A report said that the site was in the opinion of officers deemed as ‘grey belt’.

It added:

“There is a demonstrable unmet need for the type of development proposed in the Lichfield district area. The application site is considered a sustainable location with local services and access to transport connections in Whittington.”

The planning committee will decide on whether to approve the proposals at a meeting on 13th April.
