A REPORT has recommended plans to build a new headquarters for a major logistics firm on land in Fradley are approved.
The scheme has been earmarked for the plot alongside the HS2 route off Nanscawen Road and would see the demolition of existing farm buildings.
A decision will be made at a meeting of Lichfield District Council's planning committee on 29th June.
A report to the meeting said:
"The site lies immediately adjacent to the established Fradley Park employment area.
"The proposal would facilitate the expansion and consolidation of an existing business operating within Fradley Park through the delivery of a new national headquarters and distribution facility.
"Significant economic benefits would arise from the development, including substantial inward investment as Palletways national headquarters, safeguarding 250 jobs and ensuring the retention of an important local employer and business and potential for employment creation and support for the continued growth of the logistics sector within the district."
