People are being urged to stay safe and be prepared for poor weather when the Olympic torch arrives in Lichfield.
Thousands are expected to line the streets as the flame makes its journey from the National Arboretum, through Steethay and the city centre before leaving the area in Hopwas.
But West Midlands Ambulance Service are reminding people to make sure they’re prepared for the Great British weather.
Assistant Chief Ambulance Officer Steve Wheaton said: “Living in England we should all be used to the wet weather, yet many people still forget the essentials when it’s raining. Given that heavy rain showers are forecast for the weekend, Saturday in particular, we urge people to wear appropriate footwear, waterproofs and take an umbrella if you’re planning to watch the torch relay.
“Our advice is for people to be sensible and reduce the chances of them needing our medical help. The last thing we want is for a fantastic occasion to be spoilt and people to miss the torch relay completely.”
