Resurfacing work at a major Lichfield junction will take place this week.

One side of The Friary island will take place on Sunday (17th March).

The eastern side of the island is being resurfaced as part of a £65,000 improvement scheme.

Work will begin at 7.30am and is scheduled to be completed by 10pm.

Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport, Cllr Helen Fisher, said: “The Friary island is one of the busiest routes into Lichfield city centre and so we want to ensure the road surface is well maintained.

“We are carrying out this major improvement scheme on a Sunday to ensure there is no disruption during the working week.

“We would like to thank people in advance for their patience while work takes place.”
