A free arts festival in Lichfield will see reusable drinks cups used after sponsorship from a local business.
Metro Shipping has agreed to back the use of ecocups at the Fuse Festival in Beacon Park later this summer.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the event, which runs from 8th to 10th July.
Phil Beale, vice-chair of Fuse’s parent organisation Lichfield Arts, said he was pleased the festival would be able to take a green approach.
“We are very conscious of our environmental footprint and are committed to promoting environmental awareness and responsibility.
“To avoid single-use plastic drinking cups we will therefore be serving drinks at the bar in reusable ecocups, which our visitors can use across the festival weekend and subsequently use at home and at future events.
“We are extremely grateful to Metro Shipping for sponsoring the ecocups and in so doing demonstrating their own environmental awareness and commitment to the local community.”

Metro Shipping’s director Tom Fernihough said:
“In line with our corporate commitment, Metro is delighted to support and sponsor the Fuse Festival in promoting the use of ecocups and reduce single use plastics.”
