RUNNERS have helped to raise more than £1,100 for Lichfield St Chad Rotary.
The donation was handed over following the completion of the Cathedral to Castle Run.
The cheque was handed over by Gary Williams from organiser Seventeen43. It will be used to support local charities and good causes.
A similar amount was also donated to the Rotary Club of Lichfield.
A spokesperson said:
"The Cathedral to Castle Run was devised by Rotarians from Lichfield and Tamworth in 2014 as a community event with fundraising for local worthy causes.
"Starting with the first event in April 2017, it has been held annually – except for 2020 when it was postponed due to Covid restrictions – and has grown from strength to strength, gaining a great reputation for the multi-terrain route, being well organised and having lots of encouraging and friendly marshals. I
"After the April 2023 Cathedral to Castle Run, the Rotary clubs handed over the ownership and organisation of the event to Seventeen43 Limited, but have continued to be involved in a marshalling capacity.
"Rotary is delighted that Gary has continued to organise the event in an excellent way for the last three years and it has continued to grow in popularity. "
The 2027 edition is scheduled to take place on 11th April. For booking information visit the website.
