Burntwood RUFC 2nds welcomed Willenhall 3rds to The Sportsway where both sides struggled to produce any free flowing rugby in very much a stop-start affair.
The hosts eventually came out on top of a 24-5 scoreline, courtesy of a converted penalty try on the stroke of half time plus two late second half scores from Oliver Whitehouse and James Langford. Mitch Carless added three conversions and a penalty kick in a fine display of goal kicking.
Willenhall threatened the Burntwood line at times throughout the afternoon and fully deserved their one try of the game, indeed this was a closer game than the actual score suggests.
In the end this fixture just fizzled out as both sides became continually frustrated with the game not being allowed to flow.
