The local authority is consulting over plans to revamp the top three tiers of its management.

It has estimated that redundancy costs could total around £500,000 if the plans go ahead.

But Cllr Mike Wilcox, leader of Lichfield District Council, said it was important for the local authority to reorganise.

“This management review has been undertaken to create a corporate council,” he said.

“We need to create a council with a stronger, more pro-active leadership to deal with the challenging situations ahead.”
