Two concerts near Lichfield have been cancelled after the organiser went into liquidation.
A summer proms concert at the Shugborough Estate by the National Symphony Orchestra on August 19 and a gig by Jools Holland the previous day have both been axed after EMS Promotions collapsed.
It is believed nearly 4,000 tickets have been sold for the two events through various outlets.
County Councillor Pat Corfield said: “We are obviously bitterly disappointed that these concerts have been cancelled due to EMS Promotions, which hired the Shugborough Estate as the venue, going into liquidation.
“Our priority is to assist anyone who purchased tickets either from Shugborough directly or through the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre to receive a full refund.
“Undoubtedly many people will be upset that these two events will not take place. I would like to reassure people that no other Shugborough events are affected and the estate is open as normal.”
People who have purchased tickets directly from Shugborough’s ticket office, should contact the estate on 01889 881 388. Alternatively, people can email the estate on Shugborough.promotions@staffordshire.gov.uk. People who have booked tickets through Stafford Gatehouse Theatre should contact the theatre on 01785 254 653, for ticket refunds.
People who have purchased tickets directly through EMS concerts, through tourist information centres or other venues, should contact 0800 0855 070 for advice.
